Stop Smoking Support For Christians

"A substance usually used in small amounts relative to the reactants, that modifies and increases the rate of a reaction without being consumed in the process."

Our faith is the catalyst that starts the power of the holy spirit working in our lives, and our faith indeed exists in small amounts, even smaller than a mustard seed. The power of the holy spirit has no limits.

Consider the following verses from the book of Mark:

Mar 11:21 Being reminded, Peter *said to Him, "Rabbi, look, the fig tree which You cursed has withered."

Mar 11:22 And Jesus *answered, saying to them, "Have faith in God."

Mar 11:23 "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be (granted) him."

Mar 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be (granted) you."

Faith In The Lords Miracles
If you study the gospels you will find that faith seems to play an important part in most of our Lords miracles, as he often makes a statement such as:

Mar 9:23 "And Jesus said to him, " 'If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes."

Mar 5:34 "And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction."

Mat. 9:29  "Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you."

Faith In Our Daily Life
When you have a problem, pray and ask for God's help.  Believe in your heart that what you pray for will be granted you.  Ask God to help you overcome your addiction to cigarettes.  Believe that you will be delivered from your addiction, and do not doubt.  Whenever doubt arises banish it from your mind, and believe that God will help you overcome your addiction.  Remember doubt has the opposit effect of faith.

Mat 14:28 "Peter said to Him, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."

Mat 14:29 "And He said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus."

Mat 14:30 "But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"

Mat 14:31 "Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"

For everything positive, there is a negative, and doubt is the negative of faith.  The first two times I quit smoking I quit without asking the Lords help.  I toughed it out cold turkey.  The first time wasn't real difficult, as I hadn't been smoking long, but I only quit for a year.  The second time was much more difficult as I had been smoking for a long time, but I did quit for 5 or 6 years.  I had trouble with nerves the whole time I wasn't smoking, and finally wound up smoking again.

The last time I asked for the Lords help, and got it.  I had very little trouble quitting, and have had no trouble being nervous since I quit.  The Lords help is available to you.  Ask for it, accept it, and believe he will help you overcome your addiction, whatever it is.
