Find something to do with your hands (Try to find something that isn't stressful, to do at home. Computer games may create too much stress. You might try model building, arts, or crafts. I got proficient with a yoyo. Your work will probably keep you occupied enough while you are at work. Try to get outdoors more.
If you use the nicotine patch you really shouldn't experience much stress. If you experience a craving for a smoke try a hard candy, or a stick of gum, until the desire passes. Exercise helps take your mind off smoking and helps overcome the tendency to gain weight when you quit smoking. Exercise will also make you feel better. Set a date and quit. All the information in te world won't help you unless you get started. Please don't delude yourself into thinking you can quit when smoking starts to cause you health problems.
