Helpful Hints To Stop Smoking And Live Victoriously
The Easy Quit Smoking Guide
The plan outlined in the easy quit smoking guide works, and it is easy. You will feel some minor discomfort at first, and the best way I found to handle that was to say to myself, "I have been ill, but I am recovering, and I am getting better every day." That will not be true if you wait until you actually become ill before you decide to quit smoking.

We are back in the U.S. state of Texas Again. Our place here is about 80 miles southeast of Fort Worth, way out in the sticks. We really enjoy coming here. There is a lake where we can fish, and there are all kinds of things to see. No one hunts here and we see all kinds of wildlife. A couple of days ago a wild turkey came up to the front yard fence.
This place in Texas is really remote. Our nearest neighbor is about a mile away. At night you can see the lights of all our neighbors way off in the distance. We enjoy the peace and solitude here. I am really glad I have quit smoking. I can often smell an approaching rain shower as it wets the dry earth in it's path. When I arise in the morning I smell all of the country smells, along with the smell of coffee perking. Unfortunately my appetite has improved as well and I am going to have to work on my weight a bit harder.
After you quit smoking you will discover that foods you haven't been particularily fond of have some delicate flavors you never noticed before. Your appetite definitely improves. I never really cared for desert before, it just interfered with my after dinner cigarette.
Just think of all the time you will regain by not smoking. In the not so distant past, everyone could smoke at their desks, or in their work place. Smoking didn't make a person less efficient than a non smoker, and actually smokers probably took fewer breaks than non smokers, as you could smoke while you worked. That is no longer the case, and in most businesses you have to leave the premises in order to smoke. That makes you a liability in your work place, you are less productive than your non smoking counterpart. If you figure you spend 10 minutes smoking each cigarette, you are wasting 200 minutes with every pack, and that doesn't take into account the time required to leave and return to the premises.
Of course you may only take 2 or 3 smoke breaks at work each day, but you still smoke the remaining 17 cigarettes. It is your own time you are burning then. When you are young time seems to be the one thing we have an abundance of. As we get older we realize that we only have a finite amount of time, and we realize that time is precious. If we waste it it cannot be reclaimed. If you smoke 1 pack each day that is 73,000 minutes each year that you could put to other pursuits. That comes to 1216 hours per year for a one pack per day habit.
One of my sons comes to visit us from time to time. Although I really don't mind if he smokes in the house, he goes outside for a smoke, as that is his habit at home. Perhaps it is your habit to go outside too. Think about it, we only have a limited amount of time to visit family and friends, especially if you are separated by hundreds of miles. Think of the conversation and comradarie you are missing 10 minutes at a time. That habit is making smokers solitary creatures. Stop burning up your life, quit smoking.
Useful Tips, Encouragement And SuggestionsHelpful hints to quit smoking: you may experience some manageable discomfort from withdrawal symptoms when you stop smoking, even when using the nicotine patch. The thing that helped me the most here was to consider smoking an illness I was recovering from. This illness has a recovery period of about three weeks, which is about what a bad case of the flu might run. The discomfort won't be any worse than the flu and you can endure that. The effects are not similar to the flue. You just experienience a strong desire for a smoke. I only mentioned the flu because that is something we are all familar with, and know you can manage, you won't feel nearly that bad. Just keep telling yourself you are recovering, and that you will soon be well. Keep in mind that if you weaken you will have a relapse, and will have to endure that discomfort all over again. Of course if you use the nicotine patch the time (3 weeks) will be extended, but the patch will make quitting easier.
Don't Let Your Resolve WeakenThat reminds me, I have noticed that some of the search terms people use to find our site suggests that they are trying to quit by using the nicotine patch, or some other nicotine replacement scheme, and they are still having a smoke from time to time. They are concerned that this practice might be dangerous, and it is. You could overdose. That is the whole idea behind the patch, to replace the nicotine you normally get from smoking. You start off with a fairly strong patch, and the strength is gradually reduced as your dependence on tobacco decreases, until the amount of tobacco in the patch is very small. At that time you can quit easily. If you weaken and have a smoke you have defeated the whole scheme, and may even put yourself at risk. You will have to start all over again. Hang tough, don't smoke.

Quitting chewing tobacco can be accomplished with the same techinque as quitting cigarettes. There are some people in the health care community, who have suggested that using so called smokeless tobacco, or chewing tobacco might be a strategy in quitting smoking. I can assure you that the people who do use these products have just as difficult a job quitting as you will have in stopping smoking. I actually tried it once, and then found I had two bad habits to quit. There are health risks associated with the use of these products, and you certainly don't want to add to your existing problems by taking on another dangerous habit.
If you do use smokeless tobacco, or chewing tobacco, go to our home page, and you will find that the technique we suggest will be helpful to you in stopping the use of these products. To Get All Of The Helpful Hints, Start At Our Site Directory
A habit is something one must overcome on their own. You cannot do much to help a child overcome this habit, except to guide them, and support their efforts to quit. As the old saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your guidance in preventing your children from smoking will be much more beneficial. However, keep in mind that as they are not long term smokers their habit will be easier to overcome.
The first step is to encourage them to consider stopping on their own free will. Once that is accomplished, you can support their efforts to quit in any way you can. We can also hope that if we ourselves stop smokeing, that may be an inspiration to them.
